Kenneth Schortgen Jr., Financial Examiner for the Examiner.com reports on developments in Utah as the state moves closer to embracing gold and silver coin as alternative, complementary currencies:
Gold and silver has been approved as legal tender, and for use as money by the Utah House of Representatives. The bill is now being passed to the state Senate for approval before moving on to the Governor.
.... The state of Utah is trying to once again bring sound money to its citizens, and if this new bill passes in the legislature, then gold and silver will once again be part of the monetary system.
